Anemia means without blood, a deficiency of red blood cells. Red blood cells help carry oxygen to the body's tissue and the brain. Low red blood cell count means a lower supply of oxygen in the tissue. The presence of abnormal blood cells can be caused by abnormal production, major loss of blood, excess from destruction or reduced production. There are many types of anemia.

There are several habits or issues that may be leading factors that cause anemia.

  • Malaria (or other infectious diseases
  • Iron Deficiency
  • Vitamin B-6, B-12, C, E or folic acid deficiency
  • Thyroid disorders
  • Lead toxicity

To help aid the body in not having an anemia problem as much abstain from drinking beer, coffee, soda or tea along with meals. They keep the body from absorbing iron. Tea has tannin in it, which decreases the body's absorbs ion of iron. Instead it is best to drink citrus fruits. Foods such as polished rice, sugar, desserts and white bread take iron from your body.

The following foods are helpful in naturally treating anemia. Every person is different so it makes take a few tries to find something that will work for you. Organic forms of iron, like in food, are better for you than supplements. If you take iron supplements, make sure you also take Vitamin C. Vitamin C helps the body absorb iron.

Raw Liver extract, Folic Acid, biotin and B-12 provide elements needed to help the body produce blood cells. Beets, dried fruits, soy milk, almonds, bran flakes, oysters, lentils (with a bit of black strapped molasses), brown rice, prunes, raisins, whole grain pastas and breads are good foods.

Good vegetables are dandelions greens, dates, kale, turnip greens, spinach, collard greens, parsley, prickly pear cactus leaves, beet tops, nopalitos, (part of the pad of a prickly pear cactus), peppers (green, jalapeño and habenero), broccoli, peas, celery, bok choy, string beans, epazote (a Mexican spice or tea), basil and cilantro. Black Strapped molasses, 1Tbsp. Twice daily for adults, this contains essential B and iron vitamins. Or mix two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and two teaspoons of black strapped molasses and add to water or tea and drink.

Beet root juice mixed with one cup of apple juice, add a little honey to it.

Two ripe bananas mashed up twice a day eaten with a bit of honey. Bananas and honey have a rich supply of iron. Do this for a month.

Soak two to fifteen raisins in honey overnight in water. Eat them with a bit of honey the next morning with breakfast for a month. Raisins and honey are a form of iron that is natural.

Two to three figs a day or two citrus fruits a day.

Lemon juice or apple cider vinegar with a little honey in the morning.

Eating this things in the morning give you a boost of energy. In the morning you should eat breakfast, helps you stay healthy and have a good metabolism.
